Description

LAND IN SICHT (literally: “land in sight”) is a fictional travel magazine which I designed as part of the “Editorial Design” course I took during my Bachelor’s degree. I developed a prototype of 20 pages covering the most striking sections of the imaginary magazine, including the editorial, the table of contents as well as the main article. The magazine's highlight is an illustrated folding panorama that spans four pages.

LAND IN SICHT has an intended release cycle of four issues per year, which are published during the tourist season from March to October. The target audience is tourists of all ages, especially travel enthusiasts who do not limit themselves to the most popular destinations but also enjoy smaller and less well-known places. LAND IN SICHT focuses on “insider tips” both in the city and in the countryside and aims to help tourists have a rich and diverse vacation.

Each issue covers a different travel route in the North German state of Schleswig-Holstein. The prototype I developed takes the reader on a journey along the Kiel Canal, from the west coast of Schleswig-Holstein to the state capital Kiel on the Baltic Sea coast.

The magazine prototype was shown at the Rundgang 2022 exhibition of Flensburg University of Applied Sciences.
